App bundle: easily install Signal, Telegram & co.

We have packed our additional apps into one simple terminal command.

  • Zoom
  • Signal
  • OnlyOffice
  • Rustdesk
  • Telegram
  • TLP (prevents too deep a sleep)

Zoom is not an open source application. That is why we only recommend Zoom with reservations if data protection is important to you.
If you do not want to install this app, simply delete the line us.zoom.Zoom \ from the code before running it.

If one of these apps is missing after a reinstallation, or you are setting up another computer with Linux, simply open the terminal and copy this code.

# 1. Add the Flathub repository (if not already present) flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://dl.flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo # 2. Install Flatpak applications # Zoom, Signal, OnlyOffice, RustDesk, Telegram + optional TLP-UI (graphical interface) flatpak install -y flathub \ us.zoom.Zoom \ org.signal.Signal \ org.onlyoffice.desktopeditors \ com.rustdesk.RustDesk \ org.telegram.desktop \ com.github.d4nj1.tlpui # 3. Install TLP (power management to prevent too deep a sleep) sudo apt update sudo apt install -y tlp tlp-rdw # 4. Avoid conflict with power-profiles-daemon (default on Ubuntu 24.04 / Zorin 18) sudo systemctl mask power-profiles-daemon.service # 5. Enable and start TLP sudo systemctl enable tlp --now

These commands apply to Ubuntu-based systems, for example Zorin 18. For other Linux distros the command syntax may differ and this code will not work.
